Your Owner’s Manual says that you must change your oil every 5,000 to 10,000 miles. That is just wrong! The only reason an oil change is required is due to contamination. Almost all of that contamination is in the form of soot produced by your engine.

When fuel is ignited on your engine cylinders the burn creates gases and soot, much like a fire in a fireplace. Most of the soot exists your engine cylinder via an exhaust valve and out the tailpipe, but a small portion of it sticks to the cylinder wall and gets wiped into the enging oil past your piston rings. Some of it will get blasted past the piston rings during ignition in what is known as "Blow By". This is a known phenomenon and is no cause for concern (unless its excessive).

Slowly, the soot builds up in your oil turning it black and making it less lubrucative and more abrasive. By filtering out the soot at an effective level your oil will stay golden brown and continue to provide lubrication for your engine much longer than the manufacturer or oil compaines want you to believe.

The FS-2500 is a remote mounted bypass oil filter. The FS-2500 cleans your oil at an efficiency rate of 2.78 microns absolute. This will allow you to extend oil drain intervals dramatically, and most importantly, stop up to 99% of the wear in the engine.

Simply change the filter element every 10,000 miles for $27, add 1.5 quarts of oil (the amount removed with the old filter) and take an oil sample. Send in the oil samples to have analysis done (about $20 most places). When the analysis recommends changing your oil, then it is time to change your oil.
